Just in time for Father’s Day, I’m proud to share Dad Is Not A Noun, a collaboration with Skyzoo that serves as the official theme song for the Dad Is Not A Noun podcast.
Inspired by the belief that fatherhood is more than a title, the song is about the promises we make to our children, the responsibilities we carry as parents, and the lessons that are passed from one generation to the next.
Through Father’s Day weekend, all Bandcamp proceeds from this releases will be donated to Real Dads Network’s Fatherhood & Family Center.
The origins of this song go back several years, when it was first conceived as the theme song for the podcast. After becoming a father myself, I revisited the concept from a new perspective and completed the record with a deeper understanding of the message at its core.
I’m grateful to collaborate with Skyzoo and DINAN in bringing this theme song to life. Special thanks to the podcast’s host and creator Ishmael Street, and artist Demar Douglas, whose original logo helped inspire the artwork for this release.
