I’m excited to launch Soul Sides, a new instrumental series where I pair two complementary styles on each release. Inspired by analog formats like vinyl and cassette, each volume explores two sides of a shared musical DNA — tracing hip-hop’s roots through the genres that shaped it.
• Side A: “Move It” – a funky roller-skate jam with punchy drums, talkbox vocals, and synth stabs
• Side B: “Mr. DJ” – a laid-back cruiser perfect for sunsets and bass-heavy sound systems
Both tracks are pulled from my upcoming album, Back to Cali: Boogie & Bounce, dropping August 1st. Pre-orders for the album go live tomorrow (7/24) on Bandcamp.
Back to Cali digs into the Soul Mates Library archives for a sun-drenched blend of West Coast boogie, disco-funk, and G-funk grooves. Side A (The Boogie) channels roller rink-ready two-step, while Side B (The Bounce) leans into lowrider anthems and trunk-rattling synths.
All compositions are part of the Soul Mates Library collection – pre-cleared and ready for sync in for film, TV, ads, podcasts, and more. Licensing inquiries: [email protected]
