Since it's release on September 13th 2011, the response for my new project Fela Soul has been nothing short of amazing. With Fela Soul, I hoped to showcase my production, while increasing people's knowledge of two very important artistic forces, and your support and sharing has helped me to achieve that goal. With combined listen/downloads of over 300,000 and growing, your support proves that there will always be a place for quality music. I am eternally grateful for your interest and continued support, and I hope you enjoyed listening to the project as much as I enjoyed making it.
It's Christmas time. And my rhyme steady bumpin'. Here are a few jams to help you get in the holiday spirit.
“We are the 99 percent. We are getting kicked out of our homes. We are forced to choose between groceries and rent. We are denied quality medical care. We are suffering from environmental pollution. We are working long hours for little pay and no rights, if we’re working at all. We are getting nothing while the other 1 percent is getting everything. We are the 99 percent.”
What do you get when you put together afrobeat legend Fela Kuti and rap pioneers De La Soul? You get Fela Soul; a musical tapestry created by Gummy Soul artist Amerigo Gazaway. More than just a clever title, Fela Soul is an 8-track, 33 minute journey into the world of afrobeat rhythms, funky horn riffs, and classic hip-hop gems. Using dozens of hand-picked samples from the Nigerian instrumentalist and political figure Fela Kuti, and 8 carefully-chosen acapellas from the Native Tongue rap trio De La Soul, Amerigo seamlessly intertwines the two into something completely new and original.
The sixth in a series of free releases on Cold Busted.Compilation includes tracks from forthcoming releases on both Cold Busted and Busted Beats. Featuring tracks from Creative Control, Amerigo Gazaway, Vitamin D, Green Street, Stape Mega, and a ton of other new artists.

I'm sure you all are getting pretty damn tired of hearing that "Friday" song by Rebecca Black. I know I am. Every week my friend Larry posts another parody or remix of it on my facebook page, and it ends up getting stuck in my head for the entire day. For all of you out there struggling with the same problem, here is a much more enjoyable song about Friday that I.R.V and DJ SoCal from Philly did over my instrumental joint "Midnight Jazz".
