About Helping Hands For Single Moms:

Helping Hands for Single Moms is a community based nonprofit organization in Phoenix, Arizona which assists low-income single mom families while the mother pursues a college degree and financial independence. By offering the single mom students both financial and supportive services, these women can remain focused on completing their education, obtaining a livable wage job, and ultimately achieve financial self-sufficiency. HHSM began with one single mom in 2002 and has steadily grown, assisting over 100 single mom college student families, annually. The moms succeed and complete 9 or more credit hours each semester, and are required to meet or exceed a 2.8 GPA, while (many) hold a part or full-time job, as well. HHFSM full-scholarship clients have a 76% graduation rate with an average career starting salary of over $46,000 plus benefits – a livable wage in Arizona.

About the Cypher:

The brainchild of Arizona rapper, Thaahum, the “Arizona Inspiration on Fire Cypher” was created in 2013 as a platform for up and coming socially and lyrically conscious Phoenix, AZ based Hip-Hop artists. After a successful inaugural launch (which included a standout verse from nationally known, Phoenix rapper “Random”), Thaahum broadened his concept for 2014 to include not only the rappers, but their respective children as well. With an aim to promote open communication between parents and their children, the Phoenix MC secured producer Amerigo Gazaway for a Soul Train themed remix of the 2014 AZ IOF: Bring Your Child To Work Day Edition.

The original video, directed and edited by Phoenix based director, Negro Tarantino, can be seen here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=1zlPTVfdXYA
